NEW TEAM DECALS

The 2012 Team decals are being processed and printed this week. Michael Beard has designed another good looking decal for us to show proudly. Look for them to arrive within two weeks.

BEAVERS ON THE ROAD
A seven car team from the Beaver made the annual trek to Costal Plains for their season opening event. Overall it was a good race with several late round showing by the Beavers.

Here's a taste of southern racing...

Video coverage by Lisa King of www.bracketracecentral.com

Jason Weaver took a semi's in Saturday's $10,000 Foot Brake event.

Gunner Miller took a semi finals in Fridays Gamblers

Michelle Orwig had a great weekend culminating with a
5th round finish on Sunday in the $10,000 to win race.

April Derr went red on Saturday and ran right on her dial.
She's looking good for the 2012 season.

Brian Pecht  debuted his dragster in style winning the
very first round he ever competed in at Coastal Plains.

Dave Bratton was at the wheel of his dragster at Coastal Plains and let the Beavers know he'll be a force in Top ET this season.

Mike McCracken was a real hit with his Camaro
drawing a crowd to view his 8 second ride.

Our southern connection, Michael Beard, made it to the quarter-finals in Saturday's $10K, and went another 5 rounds in Sunday's $5K.

The Beavers on the Road benchrace in the shade on a sunny 80 degree mid-March afternoon!

Maple Grove & Cecil County racer Dave Dissinger won both the Friday Gambler's race and Sunday's $5K in Modified.  He's wearing a Beaver Springs shirt, so we'll claim him, too.  Brock Moshier (left) won Saturday's $10K, making it a clean sweep for Pennsylvania drivers.  What a way to shake off the winter!

2012 JR PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

NEW FRIDAY CLASS ANNOUNCED

Bob McCardleWhat has been long talked about and rumored to be happening at the Beaver is now official. Beaver Bob, along with the steering committee of Top Street, have formulated a new class to address the growing interest in moving the eliminator to the next level. The new class will be a very liberal application of rules for street legal cars that will now be eligible to compete in Top Street. As we all know, most of the Top Street qualifiers have been pushing the envelope of "Street Legal". Example: Where's your wiper motor? Do these headlights and turn signals work? ETC. ETC.  Now, with the new class, they have a home. You know what I always say, "If you have a car, we have a class for you."
Give us your thoughts on the class:

                              beaverbob@beaversprings.com

Captain Ed Brady will be a force in Xtreme Street

Xtreme Street: cars will qualify into Top Street. Cars that don't make the quick 8 qualifying bump and those that lose first round, will fall into Outlaw Street.
Here is the rules. It's the short and sweet of what is legal and what is not.
All cars must be: licensed, inspected and through the mufflers. Must have a glass windshield, working lights, stock appearing dash, driver in stock location, stock wheelbase. Lightweight doors, front fenders, hood and trunk are permitted, Back half and front clip frame permitted. Any fuel, and power adder permitted. Must retain, stock roof and rear quarters. All cars must have a current IHRA or NHRA chassis certification of 8.99 minimum.
What is not permitted: No full tube chassis cars. No roadsters. No Nitro.

Cars are limited to an 8.40 dial in.
This may be change as the season progresses

Hemi John's Cuda is an example of Outlaw Street.
It's really simple, it's an all out race car.

Street Stick/Auto rules tightened up
Don Kunis sharp `66 Nova is Street Auto legal.
He has all the required street legal equipment in place.

With the addition of Xtreme Street, Stick and Auto class regs will be tightened up. For the 2012 season, cars must have all inspection required equipment in place. IE: wipers motors, horn, working lights, etc. This will put the "Street Legal" back into Street racing. It'll be a great season!!

ANOTHER NEW FRIDAY CLASS
TRUE STREET

First off, a little history of Friday Street Racing.
In June of 1991 we hosted our first official Friday Street Race. The classes were, Street Stick and Street Auto. That was it. Entries had to run DOT tires with full exhaust, and Bikes and cars ran together. You could pretty much roll in off the street and have a good chance of winning. As the years went on the cars got faster, additional classes were added and the rules were loosen up. Slicks were permitted, headers, two steps, etc. With that happening, the real street cars started to win less and less and purpose built Friday Street Racers dominated the winners circle. In the last 5 or so years we have seen less and less real street cars making the Friday Night scene because they didn't have a good chance of winning. Well, that is going to change this season as we announce....

TRUE STREET
Entries limited to true street cars only. Stick and Auto run together.
Legally licensed and inspected - Full exhaust system over the real axle
Any DOT street legal tire permitted  -  Slicks are prohibited
.500 Pro Tree Fridays - .500 Full Tree on Test & Tune days
Power adders permitted, but ......  Dial in: 12.00 and slower

The new muscle cars like Bill Dippery's Boss 302 Mustang will now be a  contender in the True Street wars.

BONUS FOR TEST & TUNE SATURDAYS
True Street will be contested during Test & Tune days at no additional charge. Just pay your $40 fee ($30 for members) and get into True Street racing.
Same awards as a Friday Street Race.

Beswick, make the show.  Arnie was here is 2008 but didn't get a chance to make a pass as rain halted the show after the introduction of legends. It sure looks like we'll have competition for Dicky Estevez's Daddy Warbucks Falcon.

JR STOCK and NOSTALGIA ET CHANGES

In an effort to make Jr. Stock and Nostalgia ET a  different kind of racing and not just a dial you own ET race, the following change will be in play.

JR STOCK and NOSTALGIA ET  will now dial to the tenth. Example: If you car runs a 11.55 ET in time trials, you can dial a 11.50 or a 11.60. This puts the JR Stockers and Nostalgia ET on the same footing as their bigger brethren the Nostalgia Super Stockers. And yes, you can change your dial every round. The eliminator will now differ regular Bracket Racing and is a throwback to the way JR Stock was contested in the 1960's.

"The Professor" Chris Holley endorses the new format.
